Our trip to Washington state

This is a picture of Wyatt at the 10,000 Silver Dollar Bar in Montana with two of his buddies. Behind the bar they have a button they push to make it sound like one of these guys is farting.

This is a picture of the street sign by Rusty's parents house. The city was doing some changes and asked people if they would like to name the streets. Rusty's parents said either Hallam Lane or Hallam Corner. This is what they got instead.

Here's Paige watching tv. She had to wear a coat since it was lot colder up there. She was used to running around in shorts and tank tops.

Josh had to wake up to drive again. He drove most of the they way there. We drove straight through-sixteen hours!

The kids loved seeing the deer so close. There was an apple tree up the street with the apples just falling on the ground. The deer were eating apples as quickly as they fell. So the kids shook some apples down and starting baiting the deer in with them. See how close the deer got to the kids-until Paige moved too fast and spooked them.

Rusty, his brother Tommy, Josh, Wyatt and T.J. went hunting three or four different days and didn't see any deer. We had between eight and ten of them hanging around the house. Only one was an adult buck. He was only a two point though. There was also a young buck. I told Tommy he should just grab the buck while the kids were feeding it and stab it in the neck. Then he could tag it-hunt over! He didn't go for it.

One day while Rusty and Tommy were gone somewhere, I got the bright idea to go to Canada. Rusty's parents live eight miles from theborder. I figured that because of 9-11 we probably wouldn't get across, but we decided to try. Ha! The Canadian side said we needed birth certifcates for everyone and permission from the absent parent. They told us to just go around the border station and turn around to return to the U.S. side. Easy enough. Then we got to the U.S. border station. Holy Cow! They had us there for twenty minutes going though everything-my licnese, Josh' license, Wyatt's s.s.#, Sarah's s.s.#, Paige's s.s.#, the Tahoe, my purse. It was great-not! They asked if we had any knives, guns, fruit, vegetables, meat (?), fireworks, etc. We said we only had one knife. They found two knives, one paintball gun and a syringe. We explained that we had bought the knives on our trip. The paintball gun wasn't really dangerous and the syringe was to put acetone in our gas tank-to get better gas mileage. We finally got the okay to go. They did let us walk back to the actual border line and take pictures. But, we could not take pictures of the border stations because of 9-11. I'm just glad they didn't have to check our butts for drugs. I'm sure that would have been next on the list! We went to get back in the Tahoe and Sarah noticed a firecracker on the floor of the back seat. She starts yelling, "we DO have fireworks!" I hissed, "Shut up and get in!" to her. Thankfully they didn't hear her or we would still be there to this day. Why we had one firecracker in the back seat I'll never know. And I don't know how they didn't see it when they were searching the Tahoe. Oh well. God bless the USA!

Sarah and me sitting on a log at a rest stop. We were going to town with Rusty's mom. By the way "town" is like an hour away. I would hate to live so far from stores.

Oh my gosh! I love the story about getting back into the country. I am happy to know that they are trying to do all they can to protect out country.

And do they live an hour away from everything? Like even gas stations?

There is a gas station and a really tiny grocery store that are five minutes away. Gas and groceries are way more expensive at the closer places though. It's alright for forgotten things, but I can't imagine shopping there for everything!
